The 1st Annual Mesopotamia’s Oil & Gas Symposium: Natural Gas Resource and Development

This event has expired

Natural gas is considered as one of the cleanest, safest, and most useful forms of energy, it consists mainly of methane (hydrogen and carbon atoms). Usually, it has a good safety record because methane (main constituent of natural gas) is lighter than air and disperses faster than LPG in case of a gas leak.

The natural gas (NG) industry worldwide has created millions of jobs and delivered the cleanest burning fossil fuel to end users. Using such resources efficiently has the potential to reduce the harmful emissions generated by using oil and coal.

The sufficient supply of this domestic resource will provide a secure and stable energy future for Kurdistan residents while reducing greenhouse gas emissions for the new generations to come.

Symposium Objectives:

  • Introducing natural gas resources in Kurdistan region and how to utilize it to the benefit of its residents
  • Creating the link between the industry and universities in Kurdistan Region
  • Creating a consortium between oil/gas industries, KRG and universities in the region to provide consultancy, delivering technologies that are needed for utilizing NG in this region.
