16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, as set by the UN, starts on the 25th of November to
the 10th of December. The purpose of this period is to raise awareness regarding gender-based violence in
different communities. For this purpose, Komar University of Science and Technology will hold two
seminars on this topic on December 6, 2022.

The topics of the seminars are:
1. Psychology of Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
Dyari Hama amin, B.Sc. in Clinical Psychology
This session will be composed of two parts. The first part will be a presentation titled "
Psychology of Gender-Based Violence," in which the negative psychological consequences of
GBV, and the associated risk factors will be explained. The second part will be a Q&A session
as a chance for the participants to ask their questions and share their thoughts.
2. Suicide/Self-harm due to violence: recognizing signs and prevention
Sawen, M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology
The session will be composed of two parts. It will focus on how GBV is connected to suicidality
and self-harm. The second part will be a Q&A session as a chance for the participants to ask
their questions and share their thoughts.
