KUST Hosts Panel on “Challenges & Opportunities of SMEs in KRG”

On April 24, 2025, Komar University of Science and Technology hosted a panel discussion titled “Challenges & Opportunities of SMEs in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG)”.

The panel brought together experts to assess the current landscape of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the region. While SMEs are widely recognized for their potential to drive job creation and economic diversification, they continue to face pressing challenges including limited access to finance, regulatory obstacles, and underdeveloped infrastructure.

Esteemed panelists Dr. Bayad Jamal Ali and Mr. Azad Qasim offered valuable insights into the barriers and potential solutions for SME growth in the Kurdistan Region. The session was moderated by Dr. Pakzad Fadel and Ms. Razan Kerkukli, who guided the conversation, encouraging in-depth discussion on both the hurdles and the way forward.
