Komar University Hosts Earth Day Symposium to Promote Environmental Awareness
On April 23, Komar University of Science and Technology organized an Earth Day symposium focused on sustainability, environmental protection, and the role of individuals in preserving natural resources.
The event was hosted by Dr. Noel Thomas, Chairperson of the Department of Biomedical Science. Dr. Kawis Aziz Faraj, Vice President of the University, delivered the opening speech, stressing the importance of collective efforts in protecting the environment.
Dr. Twana Abulrazaq followed with a powerful message on sustainability, emphasizing the shared responsibility each person holds in conserving the planet’s resources for future generations.
A panel discussion, moderated by Dr. Thomas, featured a diverse group of experts. Dr. Ahmed Gheni, a lecturer at Komar University, discussed the use of sustainable materials in construction. Dr. Wesam Al Madhoun, founder of GAoS, highlighted the increasing impact of natural disasters in America and Europe. Mr. Sarmad Latif, a senior researcher in the Department of Civil Engineering, spoke on the vital role of water in maintaining a healthy environment.
The symposium reflected Komar University’s dedication to environmental education and its mission to inspire action within both the academic community and the broader public.
