Komar University Celebrates Kurdish Clothes Day
On March 10, 2025, Komar University of Science and Technology celebrated Kurdish Clothes Day, honoring the rich cultural heritage of Jli Kurdi. The university organized an engaging event featuring talks and seminars that explored the historical, cultural, and communicative significance of Kurdish attire.
The event began with a speech by Professor Dr. Kawis Aziz Faraj, Vice President for Student and Academic Affairs, who highlighted the historical importance of Jli Kurdi and its deep-rooted connection to Kurdish identity.
Following this, Dr. Bekhal, a lecturer from Sulaimani University, delivered a seminar on clothing as a form of non-verbal communication. She emphasized the role of attire in conveying messages, expressing identity, and shaping perceptions in society.
The final speaker, Dr. Hemn Karim, a faculty member at Komar University, discussed the cultural significance of Kurdish clothing and its impact on the Kurdish nation. His talk shed light on how traditional attire serves as a symbol of resilience, heritage, and unity among Kurds.
