A seminar on blast performance of steel structure

On Sun Feb 6, 2022  Mr Sardasht S. Weli, a faculty member at KUST and PhD candidate at Budapest University, presented his research works on blast performance of steel structure.

In his seminar, Mr. Sardasht explained the performance of ( NiTi SMA) in comparison to steel bolted connections. He numerically investigated the NiTi SMA–based connection and found that NiTi SMA connections yield a small interstory drift and a reasonable structural lateral resistance under near-field blast loading. Mr. Sardasht, so far, has published two conference and two journal papers with high impact factor on blast performance of steel structure.
