Komar University Holds Chemical Security Training with CRDF Global and US Government
A two day training on Chemical Security was held on September 15 & 16, 2019 in Komar University Campus. Only four universities in Iraq were selected by CRDF to conduct the training and Komar university was one of those four universities in Iraq and the only university in Kurdistan. This training is a part of the US department of state’s Chemical Security Programs and its conducted under the direct supervision of US government and CRDF global.
Only 25 applicants were approved by the US government to participate in the training which was taught by Dr. Sarhad Al Najjar from Sandia University and organized by Ms. Shania Khabat (Labs Director in Komar) with Dr. Suha Hussein (Faculty member in UoS). The training included extensive Chemical and Biological safety and security topics that is a major concern in all Iraq currently. All participants were provided with international certificates from the CRDF global at the end of the two day training.
