Komar University of Science and Technology celebrates its 9th Commencement Ceremony
On October 10, 2025, Komar University of Science and Technology (KUST) celebrated its 9th commencement ceremony for the Class of 2025. In this round of graduation, a total of 515 students graduated from 12 different departments, marking one of the largest graduating classes in the university’s history.
The ceremony began with a moment of silence for the martyrs of Kurdistan. The event was attended by university leadership, faculty members, distinguished guests, and families of graduates who gathered to celebrate this major academic milestone.
During the ceremony, Professor Dr. Salahalddin Saeed Ali, President of Komar University, delivered a speech in which he congratulated the graduates and highlighted the university’s continued progress in academic quality, research development, and community engagement. Following him, Dr. Amanj Abdullah Saeed, Consultant to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, also gave a speech, commending KUST’s growing role in advancing higher education standards in the Kurdistan Region.
This year’s ceremony was notable for featuring two valedictorians for the first time. Anas Abas Saeed from the Department of Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) and Kale Nawzad Abdalghafoor from the Department of Pharmacy both delivered inspiring speeches, sharing their experiences, reflecting on their academic journey, and encouraging their fellow graduates to pursue excellence beyond university life.
After the request of each department chairperson, Professor Dr. Salahalddin Saeed Ali formally conferred degrees upon the graduands. The graduates then took the professional oath, led by Professor Dr. Kawis Aziz Faraj, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs.
The event concluded with moments of joy and pride as graduates celebrated their achievements with their families, faculty, and friends, while fireworks illuminated the night sky above the university.
