Komar University Becomes First University in Iraq to Join UNESCO-ICHEI’s IIOE Initiative
Komar University of Science and Technology has become the first higher education institution in Iraq and the Kurdistan region to sign a Cooperation Framework Agreement with UNESCO-ICHEI, officially joining the International Institute of Online Education (IIOE) initiative.
This partnership is set to strengthen Komar University’s role in advancing digital education by providing access to cutting-edge online platforms, professional training programs, and ICT-based learning resources—particularly in the field of artificial intelligence. The collaboration supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education for All.
Through this agreement, Komar University reaffirms its commitment to educational innovation, digital inclusion, and international collaboration. By joining IIOE, the university positions itself as a regional leader in online and technology-enhanced learning, paving the way for broader academic engagement and capacity-building in Iraq and beyond.
