Komar University Celebrates World Library Day with Panel Discussion
Komar University of Science and Technology (KUST) celebrated World Library Day with a special event held at the university library. The event highlighted the global significance of libraries, the essential role of reading in community development, and the advancements in KUST’s own electronic library system.
The gathering aimed to introduce World Library Day and spotlight the Sulaimani Public Library along with several commercial and private libraries operating in Sulaimani city. The event also served as an opportunity to share the story behind the creation and development of the KUST Library and its innovative user-friendly digital system.
The panel featured distinguished speakers, including Dr. Hemn Karim, who discussed world libraries and their importance; Mr. Alan Rauf, Director of the Sulaimani Public Library, who emphasized the value of reading and the social impact of libraries; and Dr. Othman Sharif, who presented the workflow and development process of the KUST library system and its efficient electronic resources platform.
