Innovative Robotics Football Tournament Held at KUST
In an exciting blend of mechanics, electromagnetism, and computer coding, students of General Physics II at KUST have made a significant leap in practical education. As part of their first project under the Learning-by-Doing program, they crafted seven remote-controlled mini robots using primarily recycled materials. Dubbed ROBOGOLLI, after the Kurdish word for football, these robots showcased their football-playing prowess in a special tournament held in the university’s Sport Hall on Thursday, March 7th.
The event, which demonstrated a sustainable approach to learning and creativity, drew attention from local and international academic communities. Attendees, including guests from several universities, who were also guests of the Third International Conference on Oil and Gas were impressed by the students’ ingenuity and commitment to sustainability. The successful integration of academic knowledge and practical application in building these robots has set a new standard at KUST. Encouraged by the positive feedback, students are now motivated to enhance their creations for future local and international competitions, marking a promising step towards innovative education and environmental responsibility.
