Komar University’s Department of MLS Hosts Seminar on Descriptive Statistics and Hypothesis Testing with Dr. Shokh Mukhtar
On October 31, Dr. Shokh Mukhtar, a faculty member at the department of Medical Laborotory Science conducted a seminar primarily focused on descriptive statistics. The session began by covering different types of variables—qualitative and quantitative—and introduced participants to analyzing these data types through measures of central tendency and variation. Following this, Dr. Shokh guided attendees through the fundamentals of hypothesis testing, including the distinctions between primary and secondary data and the essential steps of hypothesis formulation and testing. The seminar concluded with a detailed look at Z-tests and T-tests, specifically covering one-sample, independent-sample, and paired-sample T-tests. To solidify their learning, participants applied these analyses hands-on in a computer lab using SPSS and Excel.
