Komar University of Science and Technology Hosts the Third International Conference on Modern Technologies in Oil and Gas Industries
On March 6th and 7th, 2024 Komar University of Science and Technology, in partnership with the University of Technology, Iraq, Al-Mustaqbal University and Midland Refineries Company, successfully hosted the Third International Conference on Modern Technologies in Oil and Gas Industries. On this two-day occasion, several experts in the field of oil and gas gathered on the premises of Komar University to discuss the potential of modern technologies in the industry.
The conference was attended by Dr Amanj Abdullah Saeed, advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, University presidents, academics and students.
The conference commenced with an opening speech from Professor Dr. Salahalddin Saeed Ali, president of Komar University of Science and Technology, which set the stage for a two-day event filled with scientific and thought-provoking discussions. Following his commencement remarks, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, President of the University of Technology-Iraq, gave a speech in which he emphasized the significance of such events for the academic community as a whole. He also expressed his deep gratitude and admiration for Komar University’s capacity and willingness to host these events.
Later, Dr Azhar Muhsin Abed Hamza, representative to Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, gave a speech in which he accentuated the crucial role of such partnerships and teamwork. Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajmi Sukkar, Head of the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Technology Iraq, also gave a speech expressing his appreciation and admiration for Komar University’s team in making the conference happen.
Following the speeches, the conference opening ceremony continued with a presentation by Dr. Ahmed Gheni, Director of International Relations at Komar University of Science and Technology. In his presentation, Dr Gheni, explained the academic processes at Komar University and presented the audience with the technological advances the university has seen since its establishment.
Prominent keynote speakers at the conference included Prof. Dr. Hussain H. AI Kayiem, Director of Academic & Research Services Sederian Berhard. -Malaysia, Professor Dr. Mahdi Hajimohammedy, from Kharazmi University – Iran, Prof. Dr. Robert Amin, Edith Cowan University from Australia. All the keynote speakers contributed their knowledge and provided insightful commentary on current technologies and emerging trends in the industry.
The conference is a testament to the continuous dedication of Komar University of Science and Technology to the academic community and the advancement of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq as a whole through the application of science and technology to further improve the oil and gas industries. Kharizmi University, Kut University College, Tabrez University and Scientific and Engineering Consulting Bureau also played an important role in the conference by sponsoring the event and providing insightful knowledge.
