A Seminar on Immune System Cells, the Future of Cancer Treatment.
On Sunday, 8th May 2016, a seminar titled “Immune System Cells: The Future of Cancer Treatment” was presented by Dr Rebar Muhammed from UoS at Komar University of Science and Technology.
Dr Rebar provided an excellent overview of immune system and how it functions in the living organisms. He also displayed some results of his researches and findings when he was a PhD candidate at Cardiff University in UK. A quote “Why we should always have to look for new treatment” drove his passion and look for new alternative treatments for epidemic and terminal diseases such as cancers and viral flues.
Dr Rebar indicated that a subset of T lymphocytes called killer T cells has been shown to be used as killer T cell therapy after its increase in the number outside the body through tissue culture. Results from dendritic cell therapy showed that an improvement in antigen to the killer of T cell and therefore enhanced T cell activity
Many University Students, faculty and staff members attended the seminar. At the end, the Director of Research Centre of Komar University, Dr. Hiwa Sdiq gave appreciation certificate to Dr. Rebar Muhammed for his unique seminar.
