Work to Help Area Refugees by KUST Student Volunteers
KUST student volunteers promoted a three day activities-based event to raise fund for refugee camps near Sulaimani. The event was held over three days, starting on Thursday 22nd and ending on Saturday 24th of January. The event was held at KUST on Thursday and Saturday and on Friday it was held at both KUST and a designated site at City Centre Mall. The public was invited to participate at City Centre on Friday 23rd January.
During the three days, there were many activities and events such as:
- Cake and cookie stalls
- Fingernail painting
- Sale of professional quality photographs from the event
- A staged musical performance
- Acceptance of donations of soft toys, clothing and books
- Sale of handmade crafts
- Showing movie documentary.
Students were interviewed on a live program on “Kurdsat Magazine” at Kurdsat Channale and on GaliKurdistan Channel by the “Amkatatn Bash” program.
On January 25th, KUST President, Dr. Salah Aziz, thanked the students for such an excellent event and presented the participants with certificates of achievement and appreciation.
