KUST Instructor Publishes Important Research In International Science Journal
Dr. Shayma A. Shaker is an Environmental Engineering instructor. She has recently co-authored and published a paper in the Arabian Journal of Chemistry. The paper is titled “Synthesis, Characterization and Structural Studies of Binuclear Nickel(II) Complexes derived from dihydroxybenzaldehyde thiosemicarbazones, bridged by 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane”. Describing the paper, Dr. Shayma says, “I have synthesized some of the mixed ligand complexes which are derived from thiosemicarbazones. The thiosemicarbazone derivative ligands and their metal complexes were characterized by the elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis, (P31, C13, H1) NMR as well as magnetic moment and X-ray structure analysis. These complexes have shown a wide range of biological and pharmaceutical activities such as anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic and anti-tumor activities.” If you are interested to read more it is also available online at ScienceDirect click here to open it.
