Faculty Development Research Roundtable
Description:
Mr.Belhadia Abdellah, Acting director of Office of Quality Assurance and Accreditation represented Komar University of Science and Technology in a virtual roundtable discussion about faculty development research which was a live workshop. Several experiences were shared by Dr. Katie Linder (Center for Teaching & Scholarly Excellence Suffolk University, editedBoston, MA) about Hybrid Course Design. The other key speaker was Professor James O’Meara from National Louis University; he discussed a framework to determine the most effective and appropriate Faculty Development Programs.
Participants were invited form a multi-institution working group to pursue this and related grant opportunities. Wiley Learning Institute staff will summarize all the ideas from both roundtable sessions and disseminate to all participants, all the material of the workshop will be uploaded to the OQAA webpage.

How do faculty development programs in higher education impact teaching practices and student learning? With changes to higher education teaching such as growing class size, diverse student needs, and technology integration, faculty development programs seem more crucial than ever. However, research into the effectiveness of faculty development programs has been limited. How can we create a framework to determine the most effective and appropriate programs?
