KUST Holds an Activity in Solidarity with Kobani
KUST stands in solidarity with the defenseless Kurds of Kobani in Syria by a candle light vigil activity for 36 days of resistance and in support of a population under the threat of a genocidal campaign by ISIS.
In the activity KUST Ms. Kner Abdullah, Director of Public Affairs Office started with the meaning of this gathering of KUST students, staff and faculty members to present their way to protest against the genocide of Kurds in Kobani by ISIS terrorism with highlight of the identity of our nation. President Dr. Salah Aziz talked about The battle of Kobani with heroic resistance of both female and male Kurdish fighters in general and how this struggle brought us real peshmerga spirits due Kurdistan. Dr. Aziz emphasized on the importance of using multi-ways to support Kurds from other parts of Kurdistan especially the refugees in KRG, and those who need our help.
At the end of activity, KUST members; Students, Faculty, and staff lighted 36 candles as a symbol of 36 days of resistance in Kobani against ISIS terrorism.
