Komar University of Science and Technology celebrates its 8th commencement ceremony
On October 25, 2024, Komar University of Science and Technology (KUST) celebrated its 8th commencement ceremony for the class of 2024. In this round of graduation, a total of 459 students graduated from 11 different departments. This marks a significant milestone for the departments and the university as a whole, as it contributes greatly to the academic community.
The ceremony was attended by the representative to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Amanj Abdullah Saeed, the Governor of Sulaimani Dr. Haval Abubakr, university presidents, members of the Board of Trustees, the owners, family and friends of graduates.
The ceremony started with a moment of silence for the martyrs of Kurdistan. Following this, Professor Dr. Salahalddin Saeed Ali, President of Komar University of Science and Technology, gave an opening speech congratulating the graduates and also highlighting some of the important milestones the university has achieved. Following Dr. Salahalddin’s speech Dr. Amanj Abdullah Saeed, representative to the minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research gave a speech in which he welcomed the attendees and also highlighted some of the important developments the university has made in the past few years. He also congratulated the graduates, wishing them a splendid future.
Following Dr. Amanj’s speech, Rose Rizgar Hama Saeed, this year’s valedictorian also gave an enthusiastic speech addressing her experience at the university. She reflected on her past years and talked about the importance of hard work for her fellow graduates
After the graduates recited the oath, read by Professor Dr. Kawis Aziz Faraj, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, they received their certificates. Following this, the graduates celebrated the night with enthusiasm as they joined with their families and friends.
