International Conference on Recent Advances in Health Sciences 2023 – Outcomes
Komar University of Science and Technology has recently conducted and participated at the “International Conference on Recent Advances in Health Sciences” – (ICRAHS-2023) as an associate partner with “Lovely Professional University”, Punjab, India from 14th April 2023 – 15th April 2023. The conference was hosted by LPU, India at their campus located in India. The Vice-president of Academic Affairs, KUST Prof. Dr. Kawis Aziz Faraj was invited as a chief guest and a speaker at the conference. He graced the inaugural event by lighting the lamp along with Prof. Dr. Preeti Bajaj, Honourable Vice Chancellor, LPU and Dr. Monica Gulati, Executive Dean, LPU. He addressed the delegates and participants of the conference and introduced KUST and its prospects. Following which He delivered the speech on Tissue Engineering topic titled “From Molecules to the Matrix – Construction & Evaluation”. The conference was also attended by reputed global speakers who also spoke about varied topics that included Pharmaceutical, Biotechnological and Medicinal applications. Later, a panel discussion on “Route Map of Interdisciplinary research” was chaired by Dr. Kawis and associate delegates from the conference. In addition, 10 research papers from esteemed faculty of KUST belonging to the Colleges of Science and Medicine have been submitted for possible publication in this conference.
Apart from the sponsorship and participation, this conference has given KUST and LPU a fruitful venue to conduct bilateral talks for a successful “Memorandum of Understanding” that paves ways for Academic and Research Collaborations between the two Universities. The scope of collaboration highlights the areas but not limited to the Developing Research Projects, Exchange of Academic information, Exchange programs for both students and faculty, Organizing and or participating in joint symposiums, developing joint programs that allow students to undertake part of the programme/ course at each institution and cooperation in doctoral education. Asst. Prof. Dr. Noel Vinay Thomas, Chairman, Dept of Biomedical Science, was the program chair for KUST has coordinated the conference proceedings between LPU and KUST. He has been appointed as the overall coordinator for the administration of this MoU. KUST is proud to be an associate partner with LPU in conducting such an illustrious conference that has channeled for a great scope in education and research.
