The depreciation of Tukish Lira and its impacts on Türkiye’s economy

On December 20, 2022, Dr. Dlawar Hadi, the chairperson of the Accounting Department at Komar University of Science and Technology presented a seminar on the “Turkish Lira Crises and Its Impact on Sector Returns”. In the seminar, Dr. Dlawar reported on the findings of one of his research papers which has been published in the reputable journal of Finance Research Letters. The paper discusses the positive and negative correlations between the fall of the Turkish Lira from 2012 to 2022, and ultimately affecting the Turkish economy at large. The seminar ended with a series of questions and comments from the attendees discussing the impacts of currency depreciation on the economy of the country.
