KUST signs MOU with Harem Hospital
On October 9th, the vice president of Komar University of Science and Technology, Dr. Kawis Aziz, along with the chairperson of Pharmacy department, Dr. Tarza Jamal received a delegation from Harem hospital in Slemani. The delegation consisted of Dr. Sarwar, the hospital manager, and all the department heads. The purpose of the visit was to sign a memorandum of understanding to advance the health sector in the Kurdistan region and in Slemani, specifically. Both Komar university and Harem hospital have agreed to collaborate in the future in terms of joint academic projects, research, student training and conferences and symposiums. During the meeting, Dr. Kawis stressed the importance of research work for hospital practitioners besides their practical work. Both sides further discussed the importance of these kinds of collaborations in creating a better healthcare system in the region. They also agreed on market assessment by hospitals and universities to determine the kind of healthcare cadre needed by the private and public sector healthcare institutions.
