A scientific joint project between KUST and King Fahad Medical City, supported by the USA department of Defense

A scientific joint project between KUST and King Fahad Medical City’s Research Center KFMC-PC, supported by the USA department of Defense Threat Reduction Agency DTRA to combat Biological threat and weapons of mass destruction for the purpose of protecting humanity from pandemics.

Dr. Dashty Amin, lecturer at KUST has PhD on Molecular Virology at (Liverpool University – UK), is conducting a research at KFMC-PC. The project focuses on analyzing genetic material, recognizing RNA mutations and categorizing the types of viruses along with bioinformatics predictions and analysis for potential pandemics caused by influenza virus using third generation sequencing technology.
