ACS presented an information session seminar for the students about the ACSs’ activities, visions and missions
On Tuesday, February 18th, a delegation from American Corner in Sulaimanyah (ACS) presented an information session seminar for the students about the ACSs’ activities, visions and missions around the world and more specifically in Sulaimanyah City. The seminar included three parts and all of the three presentations were followed by a Q/A session.
The first presentation was given by Mr. Hawbir, ACS’s Director, where his presentation covered the history of American Corners itself and other corners around Iraq and their goals. He also talked about all the activities that have been going on since January 2018 up to February 2020 in more details
The second speech was given by Mr. Lano, one of the ACS’s team leaders, and also IYLEP Alumni Advisor in Sulaymaniyah. In his presentation, he briefly shared the information about the exchange programs offered by the U.S. embassy in Baghdad. In addition, he talked about IYLEP more specifically and pointed out all kinds of supports that ACS can provide for exchange program alumni.
Ms. Areen, another ACS’s team leader and IYLEP alumni, held the last presentation. In her speech, she covered major language programs at ACS, and specifically, she talked about the course that she taught in Summer 2019. She shared the success of her students after the course and how they progressed overtime during the course.
