Orientation for New Admitted Students of Civil Engineering Department
On Tuesday 24th December 2019, an event was arranged by the CVE department to welcome newly admitted students and introduce them to their new study environment.
In the first section of the event, a seminar was presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ako Rashed Hama (The Chairperson of CVE Department). Firstly, he introduced the faculty members to the new students. Then, in the seminar, the flowchart of the courses, style of teaching, and academic calendar was stated clearly. Moreover, the ABET instructions in teaching have been illustrated, which focuses on students as the center of learning. Besides of that, the chairperson of CVE informed students that after two years of study at Komar University, they can complete the remaining two years at Edith Cowan University in Australia, and they will be awarded with an international accredited certificate.
The second part of the event was an ice-breaking activity between old and new students. In the activity, the chairperson and faculty members participated. This activity with a coffee break made new students to be more encouraged and motivated with the new study environment at Komar University.
