KUST participated in Global workshop on Air pollution
Dr. Dara Jamil (Chairman of BOT) has represented Komar University at Surrey University/UK in the global workshop during April 10 and 11th, 2019. The workshop was about “CArE-Cities: Clean Air Engineering for Cities”. The workshop was mainly focusing on Air pollution challenges and mitigation opportunities in different cities around the globe.
Furthermore, it was also tried to provide an international platform to bring cleaner air to the cities by building a knowledge exchange platform, involving 11 Development Assistance Committee (DAC) listed countries including Kurdistan partners. Its activities include joint workshops, researchers exchange and pilot studies to address urban development and health impact assessment agendas in ODA countries.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Jamil and Prof Abigail Bristow were chairing a session 3 on first day of the workshop. During the workshop, he has met some high authority people at the University of Surrey to talk about the KUST and future collaboration between Surrey and KUST.
