Komar University of Science and Technology applauds the efforts exerted towards improving and the internationalization of Kurdistan universities. However, we believe that Komar University’s achievements in this regard have been underestimated. This is because Komar University has applied the international academic standards well before those universities considered by the Ministry of Higher Education to be pioneers in applying the aforementioned system. Some such academic standards applied by Komar University since its establishment are, but not limited to, having a foundational year that equips students with the required English proficiency level, instructing in English language, adopting the system of credit hours, organizing department flowcharts on the basis of perquisite and co-requisite courses, taking into consideration international accreditation by designing its curricula after studying the internationally accredited universities abroad.
Therefore, Komar University can be considered the real forerunner of applying almost all of the internationalization standards including Bologna Process.
