The President of Komar University Announces His scholarship
On Saturday, April 9th, 2016, during his opening speech in University Day-2016, the President of Komar University, Dr. Salah Aziz announced his scholarship award. The scholarship award was a personal initiative from Dr. Salah Aziz to help outstanding students who go through financial difficulties. The award was designed as a consideration for the current economic crisis that Kurdistan Region faces. The Scholarship was 10,000, 000 ID (Ten Million Iraqi Dinars), and distributed among the outstanding senior and junior students based on some eligibilities criteria, which was announced previously;
The criteria were:
1. Students passed 60 credit hours,
2. To be student of one of the following departments: Accounting, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Petroleum Engineering and Medical Laboratory Sciences,
3. Passed Fall Semester with GPA of “C” (15 credit hours),
4. Registered in 15 credit hours in spring 2016, and
5. Eligible for Financial Aid.
within the announcement statement, Dr. Salah Aziz addressed that, this financial aid is an attempt for helping students in removing the financial barriers in front them and paving the way for their talents, as they can serve our nation and our community in future.
The initiative (KUST President Scholarship) was highly appreciated by the public, the students of Komar University and the students from other universities and higher schools who attended University Day-2016.
