Komar University Graduate Iman Saleem Ahmed Participates in Prestigious Community Engagement Exchange Program
Iman Saleem Ahmed, a graduate of the English Department at Komar University of Science and Technology, recently took part in the esteemed Community Engagement Exchange Program (CEE). The journey commenced in Detroit, where fellows, coaches, mentors, and the CEE team introduced themselves and provided an overview of the program and guidance for the three-month practicum.
Iman was matched with Counterpart International in Washington, D.C., focusing on women and gender issues. She worked four days a week, engaging directly with Counterpart’s governance team and supporting the Iraq portfolio. Her responsibilities included project design, management, and monitoring within international programming, and developing training materials on gender and inclusion. Additionally, she collaborated with the Women’s Empowerment team and supported the WE conference on expanding women’s roles in the Blue and Green Economy.
The CEE Program brings together 145 community leaders from 100 countries for a three-month leadership development experience, including a practicum with a U.S.-based organization and an intensive online curriculum. This year, 128 fellows were selected from approximately 7,000 applicants to take part in the program in the USA.
Iman’s participation in this program allowed her to engage in international discussions with young leaders motivated to improve their communities and contribute to a brighter future for humanity.
