Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education visits KUST
On September 6, 2022, Professor Salahalddin Saeed Ali, president of Komar University of Science and Technology, received a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education of Iraq. The delegation paid a two-day visit to the university, and met with department heads and units of Komar University. On the first day, during the meeting, Dr. Ahmed A. Gheni, director of International Relations, gave a detailed presentation to the members of the delegation focusing on the university’s efforts in implementing quality education throughout all the departments of KUST. Dr. Gheni stressed on the importance of the university’s educational philosophy in terms of student-centered approach in learning processes, problem-based and technology equipped learning. He further talked about the university’s role in providing students with the opportunity to get international certifications and dual degrees in their respective fields.
Following his presentation, the delegation was provided with an overview of the use of technology at KUST to run day-to-day services on campus by Mr. Bamo Nadir, the director of Student Affairs and Registration. Mr. Bamo focused on how these online systems has reduced both paperwork and routines for students and staff at KUST.
At the end of the meeting, both Mr. Taher and Dr. Mohammed expressed their appreciation for the university’s efforts in implementing quality education in the country. On the second day of their stay, the delegation was accompanied by professor Salahalddin for a detailed tour on the campus. At the end of the tour, the members of the delegation expressed their astonishment for the university’s efforts both in terms of education quality and its infrastructure.
