A seminar on “Antimicrobial Resistance; Spread awareness, stop resistance”
A seminar was held on the 15th of November by Dr. Naschmil Abdulla, assistant lecturer at Komar University of Science and Technology. The seminar took place at University of Sulaimani under the title of “Antimicrobial Resistance; Spread awareness, stop resistance”.
The seminar was organized by the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA) organization in line with the World Health Organization (WHO) antimicrobial resistance awareness week. Antimicrobial resistance, is an ever growing global threat in the effective prevention and therapeutic treatment of a range of infections caused by bacteria, parasites, viruses and fungi. The aim of the seminar was to enable our future healthcare professionals to find ways through surveillance, structural health promotion planning as well as pharmacy regulations and advocacy to prevent the further spread of new emerging resistant to antimicrobial agents.
