KUST Pharmacy Department celebrated the UN International Day of Women and Girls in Science
KUST Pharmacy Department celebrated the UN International Day of Women and Girls in Science on Wednesday, Feb 12th. This activity is part of the department’s commitment to achieve gender equity and to show support to the Women in the pharmaceutical Science and Education WiSE campaign of the FIP International Pharmaceutical Federation (#FIPWiSE campaign).
The celebration was organized by Dr. Ali Yaseen, one of the faculty member on the pharmacy department, and under the supervision and support of Dr. Asos Raoul, the pharmacy department’s chairperson. Several faculty members and students of different academic departments of KUST participated in this event.
Dr. Ali Yaseen opened the ceremony by giving a speech about the importance of this day. His speech was followed by another speech, presented by Lala Nabaz, one of the students of the pharmacy department. Question & Answering about current hurdles ahead of equity at work was moderated by two students, namely Las Jamil and Azhi Star. Here the students and audience had the opportunity to exchange their thoughts regarding the role of females within academic societies, especially in Kurdistan.
