Ambitious Webinar Series Moves Forward with Success
Adapting to challenges posed by Covid-19, CIEP went ahead with its first interactive webinar on Wednesday, 13 May, 2020.
Hosted by Mr. Rahel Ali, an English instructor at Komar and featured Mr. Alexander Jorgensen who is from the USA as a guest speaker, CIEP’s webinar covered various topics such as the education system in Kurdistan and America, university life, differences between the American and Kurdish culture, immigration, gender inequality and so forth. Initially planned for 50 minutes, the Q&A with the American educator unexpectedly ran for more than two hours, with exchanges between the guest and students filled with both engaging and frank conversation.
The hallmark of any program is its willingness to not only align with the interests of its students, but to wisely move forward in ways that demonstrate leadership. Under the guidance of CIEP Director Zareena Younis, events like this one serve to strengthen CIEP’s academic preparation and cultural offerings and to contribute to a more well-rounded and internationally-focused learning environment.
