An English Instructor in the CIEP conducted an English Course for the staff of the Sulimaniyah Passport Office
Mr. Brwa Aziz, who holds a master in English Foreign linguistics and applied linguistics, is currently an English Instructor in the Centre of Intensive English Program at Komar University. He voluntarily conducted a one month Intensive English Course for the staff of the Sulimaniyah Passport Office. Mr Brwa has received many academic, sports and honorable volunteering achievements which are English teaching-related in China and Kurdistan.
Mr Brwa is a firm believer in sharing his experience, knowledge and providing a positive contribution to the community. He shares his views on the different types of volunteer work:
“I personally believe that volunteering is what we all need to be doing. This is to ensure that we as individuals make a positive contribution in our society.
What do I mean by volunteering? I don’t simply mean volunteer for a charity-even though that this admirable on its own- you could simply be spending some time of your day to learn more about your occupation or major. If it’s sport then spend more time training, if it’s politics then maybe learn more about history before trying to make a difference in the future or simply work more toward your goals in life.
As a developing country we should start to change the way we view education by expanding our skills and committing to volunteer work as much as possible in order to gain insight of the importance of our community and professions.
Finally, I would like to thank Komar University and Ms. Zareena for their trust and confidence in me. Komar has been a source of my inspiration from the start and will always remain that way”.
