KUST receives Particle Fever broadcasting rights
Through an agreement and the approval from Professor David Kaplan, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA, KUST has received a license for broadcasting Particle Fever movie. The license under contract number 1828 has been provided and signed by ro*co films international IIc, California, USA, in June 2018, and it gives the right to KUST to show the movie with Kurdish subtitle for one year.
Particle Fever is a 99 minutes documentary film about the scientists’ activities during the first experiments at Large Hadron Collider, LHC, at CERN, the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator. It shows the challenges, efforts, failures and successes regarding the most expensive experiment on the existence of Higgs particle until 2013.
Particle Fever has won several awards in different categories among them Stephen Hawking Medal for Science Communication in 2016. The movie has been translated into more than 20 languages. For the first time, in January 2018, the movie was translated into Sorani under Dr Hamid Farangis Zadeh’s supervision. KUST is allowed to broadcast the movie with Sorani Kurdish subtitle provided by KUST.
