The President of Komar University Welcomes Prof. Dr. Kamal Towfiq
On Saturday May 21st, 2016, The President of Komar University, Dr. Salah Aziz welcomed Prof. Dr. Kamal Sulaiman Towfiq, the previous Chairman of Board of trustees of Komar University (2010-2014). He came back recently from United States of America.
During his visit, Dr. Kamal gave a tour to the new campus of KUST and saw the progress and the development of the university closely and express his admire to the level of progress. He wishes for KUST continuous success and bright future in education Sector.
After that, in some sequential meetings, both Dr. Kamal and KUST President discussed many issues related to education in Kurdistan region, opportunities for development and threats that hinters it. Dr. Kamal emphasized on continuity of Komar University on its high level of quality and good curriculum.
Dr. Kamal Towfiq is a professor and Chair of Department of Civil and Environment Engineering, Florida State University. He has more than 28 years of experience as educator, researcher and consultant to public agencies and private companies. He had published more than 150 scholarly papers and proceedings. He has three US patents with four US copyright for computer programs. He has being and ABET evaluator for more than 12 years.
It is worth mentioning that, on May 25th, 2016, Dr. Kamal Towfiq with the president of Komar University will make special workshop on “The Importance of ABET Accreditation for Engineering and Technology” at High Crest hotel. The workshop is arranged by Komar University.
