Komar University makes the ceremony of University Day of 2016
On Saturday, April 9th, 2016, Komar University of Science and Technology, held its annual University Day 2016 to present the academic and fun projects and activities of its students.
Many public officials, politicians, academic figures &representatives of universities, businessmen, high school students & their teachers, and students’ parents and family members were among the attendees of the celebration.
The KUST University Day celebration started at 10:00 AM with paying respect of silence for our nation’s martyrs, and to the anthem of KUST.
Dr. Salah Aziz, KUST president, opened the event with a speech in which he praised the bravery of Kurdistan’s Peshmarge in guarding our nation’s freedom and safety. He highly valued everyone who participated in building new campus of Komar University, and showed appreciation for the role of the faculty, staff members and the students of KUST for their hard work in maintaining the success and the development of our university.
Then guests started touring the new campus of Komar University to see student projects and participate in the fun activities. The fun activities, academic presentations, great food and music continued through the day.
It’s worth mentioning that, during his speech, Dr. Salah Aziz, KUST’s president announced his scholarship award program for high achieving students with financial difficulties, as an addition to other financial aid and support packages that KUST provides to its students including the President List (%50 discount in tuition fees) and the Deans’ List (25% discount in tuition fees).
During the opening ceremony, the President List awardees, Mr. Azhy Azad and valan Abdulsalam, and Deans’ list awardee Ms. Roza Ali were presented with their certificates. Along with that, the president gave an appreciation letter to Ms. Kner Abdulla for his great role in managing university Day 2014 and 2015.
The event ended with a bang of live music and dance concert performed by KUST’s own student/Professional singer, Mr. Ara Enayat and his band.
University Day is the annual ceremony of Komar University, for celebrating its annual achievements and shows the great works its students, faculty members and staff members.
