A Part-Time Faculty Member of KUST gets a Research Fellow Position
One of the Part-Time faculty members of Komar University of Science and Technology gets a Research Fellow position from one of the high-ranked universities of the USA to continue his research in the field of cancer.
Dr. Belal A. Muhammad who is holding the position of “President Advisor for Health Sciences” at Komar University has recently secured a post-doctoral position (research fellow) from the University of Cincinnati (UC), which is counted as one of America’s top 30 public research universities by the National Science Foundations.
“Increasing cases of cancer worldwide and especially in Kurdistan region were among the factors pushed me to concentrate on this field of research in order to participate in the global effort spent in reducing this disease and finding a proper cure for it”, said Dr. Belal.
Dr. Belal has obtained his BSc in Microbiology from the University of Salahaddin, in 1999. His MSc degree was also in the field of Microbiology from the University of Baghdad, in 2005. Finally, he received the PhD qualification from the University of Nottingham, in Cancer Molecular Biology in 2013.
He is now working at both Komar University of Science and Technology and Sulaimani polytechnic University.
