Unconventional Resources and their Effect on Oil Price
An open research seminar titled “Unconventional Resources and their effect on Oil Price” was presented by Dr. Hiwa Sidiq, Director of Komar Research Center on Tuesday, Oct. 27th 2015 at 1:30 P.M, in KUST Showroom.
In his seminar, Dr. Sidiq stated that unconventional resources are well recognized as important resources. However, producing oil commercially has proven to be a challenging process, primarily due to the complex nature of its gas storage and flow mechanism. He also provided information about recent technical developments in reservoir modeling, as well as how to identify structural complexities and modeling fractures of unconventional resources. Dr. Sidiq also introduced the relationship between production from unconventional resources and oil price.
This research seminar was the second of a series of academic seminars organized by Komar Research Center during this semester-Fall 2015.
