Waste Generation and its Impacts on Sulaimani Environment
On Tuesday Dec 8th, 2015, at 3:30pm, a seminar titled “Waste Generation and its Impacts on Sulaimani Environment,” was presented by Mr. Twana A. Tahir, a faculty member of the College of Engineering.
In his seminar, Mr. Tahir explained how the economic growth in Sulaimani city impacted on the city’s surrounding Environment. This happens because of excessive consumption of natural resources by Sulaimani residents which is caused an extensive degradation of Sulaimani ecosystems.
He also stated that our city is facing new challenges like increasing waste generation rate and lack of available land for establishing new sanitary landfill to tackle this amount of waste. Through his seminar Mr. Abdulrazaq recommend some solutions on how to overcome this problem scientifically.
