A Research Seminar in Petroleum Engineering by Dr. Omeid Rahmani
As part of Komar Research Center activities, Dr. Omeid Rahmani presented a seminar titled “Mineral Carbonation of by-Product Red Gypsum for CO2 Sequestration”, on Nov. 2nd, at 1:30, in KUST Showroom.
It is apparent that one of the key parameter of global warming is the ever increase of CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. Dr. Rahmani, in his seminar, provided a new and cost-effective technique for CO2 carbonation using Red Gypsum minerals. He also indicated that this technique of carbonation can be applied for CO2 sequestration. He suggested that this process can be upscaled to industry level.
