KUST Visits Peshmarga in Kirkuk’s Frontline
To show KUST support to Peshmarga who are protecting Kurdistan at the present time, a high level delegation headed by the University President Dr. Salah Aziz and Student Council representative, Mr. Karzan Taha visited Tobzawa Base in Kirkuk on July 16, 2014. The team was received by respected military officers and Peshmarga.
In a short speech, Dr. Aziz emphasized on the bravery and courage of the Peshmarga forces during the present critical situation. He stated that during the Kurdish Movement, students and educators contributed and supported the Movement and added “we, as KUST faculty, staff and students, will continue to play the same role.” Brigadier-General Mariwan M. Amin welcomed the team and thanked them for their support. He emphasized the importance of student’s support to any political movements worldwide. Mr. Karzan said “we as students are willing to fight side-by-side Peshmarga”.
KUST Team was consist of: Dr. Salah Aziz President of KUST, Kner Abdullah Director of Public Affairs, Karzan Taha Head of Student Council, Fatah Zaxoyi Supervisor of Community Service Council, Awat Sulaiman Director of Komar Center, and Pavel Mala Ali Coordinator of OPA.
