Opening a new School for Rojava Refugees
About Six hundreds children of Rojava refugees started their schooling this year in a new build school and with new desks and white board.
The school is named: Amuda Basic School in Barika Camp. On September 16, 2014 in a special ceremony the refugees sung and danced while they received the school.
The General Director of Education Mr. Najmaddin Ali, unicef’s representative Ms. Iman S. Abdullah and Dr. Salah Aziz, President of KUST gave short speeches at the opening ceremony. In his speech, Dr. Aziz stated that Komar University believes in creating a healthy educational environment for students and teachers so they can learn. KUST donated desks and whiteboards for the school classes. Large number of educators and KUST personnel and students attended the event.
